Division – I   Volleyball Rules ( NCAA)

  • Total of 8 teams forms as two pools, 4 teams in each pool
  • Round -1: Round robin in each pool, each team has to play with all other teams in the same pool, Each match is best of 3 sets.
    • The first team to win the best 2-out-of-3 sets wins the match. Sets one and two will be played to 25 points with rally scoring, scores start with 4 and a team must win by two. There is a cap of 30 points, meaning a team could win 30-29. Set three will be played to 15 points with rally scoring, score start with Zero, must win by two, and no cap.
    • Ranks will be given in each pool based on match winning sets
      • Each set has 1 point in a match in the Round 1.
      • Team win straight first 2 sets then winning team will get 3 points in that match and losing team gets 0 points.
      • Team played 3 sets then winning teams gets 2 points and losing team gets 1 point.
    • End of Round 1 based on number of match winning points will be given Ranks
    • If two teams get same points then look for score difference 
    • Still the tie between teams then Head to Head match result winner will be ranked top among those teams
    • Still the tie between teams then rank will be decided by Toss
  • Top 1st Rank form each pool directly qualifies to Semi-Finals.
  • Round -2: Quarter Finals
    • Q(A2B3) :Pool A 2nd Rank team vs Pool B 3rd Rank team
    • Q(A3B2): Pool A 3rd Rank team vs Pool B 2nd Rank team
    • The first team to win the best 2-out-of-3 sets wins the match. Sets one and two will be played to 25 points with rally scoring, and a team must win by two. There is a cap of 30 points, meaning a team could win 30-29. Set three will be played to 15 points with rally scoring, must win by two, and no cap.
  • Round 3: Semi Finals
    • Pool A 1st Rank team vs Q(A3B2) winner
    • Pool B 1st Rank team vs Q(A2B3) winner
  • Round 4: 3rd Prize and 4th Prize
    • Loser of SF1 vs Loser of SF2
    • One set for 25 points with rally scoring.
    • Winner 3rd prize and loser will get 4th prize
  • Round 5: Grand Finale
    • Winner of SF1 vs winner of SF2
    • The first team to win the best 2-out-of-3 sets wins the match. Sets one and two will be played to 25 points with rally scoring, and a team must win by two. There is a cap of 30 points, meaning a team could win 30-29. Set three will be played to 15 points with rally scoring, must win by two, and no cap.
  • Division-1 Each team allowed maximum of two Non-Indian or two International or any combination players, all other players must be of Asian Indian origin.
  •  Division II & III teams must be comprised of players of Asian Indian origin.

Player playing in one Division is not allowed to play in any other Division.
